Visitors centre
Our visitors centre, which is admissible free of charge, acts as a gate to the past. Situated in the central hall of the Roman villa it shows the history of the Roman and Batavian past in the Roman Realm of Nijmegen. Here one can see archaeological finds from the region, enjoy a reconstruction and several (digital) 3D models, brush up on you knowledge using the colourful display panels, in short, link up to our past.
The visitors centre is also a starting point for several recreational bicycle routes along the Limes in the Netherlands and Germany. The park is a part of the Historical Experience Netwerk. The routes take you to important places, were info panels tell you more about the history of that location. You may also use an Augmented Reality system using GPS coordinates. A booklet is available showing you were to go and giving information about the different localities and the people that lived and worked there.
